JOIN USA BBM student committed suicide by hanging herself at her hostel room in Amruthahalli on Saturday.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sophia, 19, a student of Presidency College in Kempapura. The incident came to light after Sophia’s friends returned to the hostel after lunch. A death note left by Sophia stated that since her parents insisted that she should stay in a hostel, she often felt lonely in the hostel.
Sophia’s parents hail from Kerala. They had moved to the city 15 years ago and had bought a house in the Electronics City. Sophia completed her Pre-University course from the Presidency College and continued her BBM there. Considering the distance between their house and the college, her parents asked her to stay at a hostel, said the police.
Sophia’s mother visited the hostel on Saturday, but could not meet her. She called her later over her mobile phone and took her to the task for not being in the hostel. Sophia took the extreme step some time later, said the police.
