Indian Ensemble, a Bengaluru-based theatre group, has started a new initiative called the Indian Ensemble Studio.

The studio programme is presently working on its first play which was developed at the Indian Ensemble Playwright Program early this year.  The production is titled Mi’raj and will be premiered on August 18 at Atta Galatta, Koramangala. Mi’raj is an exploration of faith’s interjection with its old foe, doubt. There will be subsequent shows at the same venue in the coming months apart from readings of other new works.

Indian Ensemble Studio Program is an initiative to develop new plays through workshops, readings and performances at Atta Galatta. The idea to start this initiative was to develop and bring out new plays either as a full length performance or as a rehearsed reading
or even a sharing of the process of development of the play.

The plays revolve around tales of contemporary society, culture and politics.
It has produced seven critically acclaimed plays and performed these in over 130 shows all over India.
