US-based 75F enters Indian market

Last Updated 11 August 2016, 18:36 IST

US-headquartered 75F on Thursday announced its foray into the Indian market.
75F, a building automation system that leverages Internet of Things (IoT) to make commercial buildings more energy efficient, among others, also introduced ‘Dynamic Airflow Balancing’ technology to the Indian market.

Speaking on the occasion, Gaurav Burman, VP and Country President, 75F India, said, “The R&D centre in Bengaluru has been functioning from 2014. So far, it has been serving the US market, and with our launch here, products catering to the Indian market will be produced in this centre.”

Talking about the market here, he said, “Commercial buildings make up 86% of the Indian commercial market, and there are approximately 497 million sq feet of installed commercial space in India today. The addressable market is Rs 4,000 crore.”

While in the US, 75F focuses on the light commercial segment, in India it will focus on IT/ITES, BPO/BPM, healthcare and hospitality, among others. Going forward, the company wants to expand its presence in the Middle East and East Asia. Talking about revenues, Burman said, “We are expecting to close this calendar year with approximately $2 million revenues, a majority of this will come from the US. In India, we target Rs 100 crore revenues by FY 2018-19.”

Pankaj Chawla, CTO of 75F, said that they are currently focused on one of the most serious problems in commercial buildings —HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioned), as it represents the largest single cost of operating a building.

“Beyond HVAC, there is a need to provide Building Automation Systems (BAS) to commercial buildings that are easy to install, affordable and effective. We look to bring the further benefits of BAS to improve energy usage, lighting, security and more,” he said.
