These specially-abled children, who were deprived of parents’ love and care, have found new ‘foreign’ parents.

Poorvik, a baby boy, and Gowthami, a girl child, who were brought up at Tavaru Charitable Trust, a home for orphans in the city, were born with health ailments, and thus their parents abandoned them.

Poorvik was born with cleft lip while Gowthami was affected by Hepatitis B during birth and she was abandoned by her parents in a public place. Poorvik’s parents had handed him to the Trust after they found the child’s deformity.

After one-and-a-half years of care in the Trust, now the children are adopted by foreign parents. While, Poorvik is adopted by American couple Joswa Brook, a professor, and Kelli Taylor, Gowthami is adopted by Ruben and Eva Maria of Finland.

Both the couple have their biological children, but they want to bring up orphans and give them a bright future. While the Finnish couple has a ten-year-old son, Joswa-Kelli duo has a girl child of two years.

The couple said that they are happy as they have included new members to their family. They promised to give the adopted kids a bright future. The Americans want their adopted son to be an engineer.

“The couple have adopted these children by applying online, after fulfilling all the legal procedures. They found that both kids were suffering from malnutrition and need special care and attention. By adopting the kids, the couple have set model for others,” said trust president Palaksha.
