The city police are trying to establish the identity of the seller of the table clock found in the dustbin at the concourse level in Magadi Road Metro station on Thursday.

The police said that they could zero in on the purchaser only after identifying the seller of the clock. On Thursday, the bomb detection and disposal squad and dog squad were alerted after the clock was found in the bin.

They combed the entire area and declared that the clock was not dangerous and nothing suspicious was found on the premises.

Meanwhile, the housekeeping staff of the Namma Metro have come in for praise by the police for their alertness in informing the authorities about the clock.

K S R Charan Reddy, Additional Commissioner of Police (West), said, “A housekeeping staffer alerted the officials after finding the table clock in the dustbin. This shows that the staffers at the Metro stations are alert. We have requested them to remain alert and inform the officers when they find anything suspicious,” he said.
