Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state general secretary and district in-charge Aravind Limbavali, on Saturday, called upon the party workers to put up concerted efforts to accomplish ‘Mission 150’ in the 2018 Assembly election.

He was addressing the party workers during the executive committee meeting of BJP’s Mysuru (Rural) unit, at Aradhya Sabha Bhavan on JLB Road here. Limbavali said, “The party has a very good chance to bounce back to power in the state in next Assembly polls as the state government, led by Congress, has failed to implement development programmes.”

“Law and order has completely collapsed. Attack on previous Deputy Commissioner C Shikha by a Congressmen is a classic example. BJP had made remarkable development in the state during its tenure. Now, under state president B S Yeddyurappa’s leadership, the party has got renewed energy. The workers should strengthen the party in the district.”

On the call given by Yeddyurappa to win 150 seats in the next Assembly election, scheduled to be held in 2018, Limbavali said that the party should win all the Assembly constituencies in Mysuru district.

He said that the party could not win even one seat in Mysuru district during the 2013 Assembly polls due to various reasons. “Our immediate goal is to reach the target and long-term goal is to strengthen the party in Mysuru district. By utilising technology, the party has enrolled more than one crore voters in the state and the party workers should reach out to the people effectively to achieve the target,” he said.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha said, “Despite of BJP wave in the state during the 2008 Assembly election, the party could manage to get only a couple of seats from this region.”

“The Congress party has failed to give good governance and has also failed to implement programmes. As the BJP has announced Yeddyurappa as the next Chief Minister, the party has gained more strength. The party workers should take up campaigns to promote and popularise various pro-people programmes initiated by the BJP,” he said.

BJP leaders M Shivanna, N V Panish, Zilla Panchayat vice-president Kaiyamballi G Nataraj and Mangala Somashekar among others were present.
