Two killed, five hurt in separate accidents in Alur

Two motorbike riders were killed while five sustained injuries in two separate accidents on National Highway 48 in the taluk on Tuesday.

Two youths riding a motorbike were killed after their bike crashed into a roadside tree near Kanadalli on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Vijay Kumar (23) and Srujan Karthik (23), residents of Bengaluru.

Police said the two were on their way to Bengaluru from Sakleshpur, when the accident occurred. While Vijay Kumar died on the spot, Srujan died en route to the district hospital.

In another accident, five people were injured in a head-on collision between a car and a Tempo Traveller near Bachanahalli. All the five injured were passengers of the car and have been admitted to a private hospital in Hassan. The injured are said to be the residents of Maheshwara Nagar, Sakleshpur taluk.
