Cricket Association of Bengal maintained their composure and posted a comprehensive six-wicket victory over KSCA XI to clinch the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappaiah memorial all-India invitational tournament at Alur (1) Ground here on Thursday.

In a tie where both sides traded the initiative till the final day, Bengal eventually held their nerve to come up trumps.

KSCA XI have now lost two consecutive finals, going down to Dr DY Patil Cricket Academy last time around.

After being set a target of 235, Bengal resumed the final day on 51/1 and were immediately pegged back as Prasenjit Das (28) fell without adding to his overnight score.

KSCA continued to apply pressure and picked up two more quick wickets to put Bengal on the backfoot at 90/4.

But a fourth-wicket partnership of 145 from 192 balls between Agniv Pan and Writtick Chatterjee ensured there were no more hiccups, as the visitors cantered home.

Agniv finished on a well-made 91 not out from 117 balls with 13 fours, while Chatterjee scored an unbeaten 56 from 85 balls in an innings that included three fours and a solitary six.

Ronit More was the most successful bowler for KSCA finishing with figures of two for 34.
