Another spell of blockade along the national highway in Manipur is leading to acute price rise. Sources said the blockade, against the recruitment tests for government jobs, began on Tuesday night and will continue till August 23.
The state government recently conducted tests for recruiting police constables, even as results of the recruitment drive conducted three years ago is still awaited. The candidates have also appeared for interviews.
The protesters claim that Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and Home Minister Gaikhangam had assured them that the results would be declared soon. Later, the government went ahead with the fresh recruitment process.
