BJP's Mestri is HDMC mayor

 
In the election held at the Municipal Corporation premises here on Saturday, he defeated Ramanna Savadatti of Congress by 12 votes. In the election held for the post of deputy mayor, Bharati Patil emerged victorious against Ratna Patil of Congress. Elections were held under tight security, curfew was enforced in the City.

In last one year, Mestri has served as the deputy mayor, and Bharati Patil has worked as the Leader of the House in the HDMC.
