She has participated in several reality shows, including ‘Bigg Boss 8’, but Karishma Tanna doesn’t like to be labelled as a ‘reality show queen’.

“There are many actors who have done more reality shows than me, but the reason I have become so prominently visible is because I have participated in three shows in the last two years,” she tells Metrolife.

However, she feels, the experience of working in each reality show is different.
The 32-year-actor is now seen in the 9th season of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ and admits that the level of dancing in this show is different from others.

“Here you are dancing with professional choreographers and not with your partner or anyone else. So, you have to work hard to match their steps and achieve a certain level of flexibility,” says Tanna who has participated in shows like ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ and ‘Nach Baliye 7’.

“Choreography too has become extremely difficult. So the participants have to work extremely hard to stay in the competition. Also, you have to understand that I am an actor by profession and this necessarily doesn’t mean that I am a good dancer,” she adds.

For Tanna, this show is all about experiencing a new journey. “I am competing against myself and not with anyone else,” she says.

Tanna, who made her debut with ‘Kahi to Milenge’ in 2002, has come a long way. She has acted in several TV series, hosted shows and featured in films like ‘Dosti: Friends Forever’ and ‘Grand Masti’, but has a little remorse for not doing well in the B-town.

“I do feel a little dejected that my career in films didn’t take off, but I have managed to sustain in the industry where people know me for my work. This acknowledgement pushes me to try different things,” she says.
