Make Daradahalli a model GP, MP tells officials

 The officials should work for making Daradahalli Gram Panchayat a model gram panchayat by October 2017, MP Shobha Karandlaje said.

Speaking at Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana review meeting in the city on Monday, she said priority should be given for providing basic facilities to the village.

About 66 development works have been initiated in the gram panchayat limits. Among them, 34 have been completed and 15 are under progress.

The remaining 17 works need to be taken up at the earliest, she added.
Karandlaje said the work on renovating Gandhi Ghar, built in memory of Kasturba Gandhi’s visit to the region, should be taken up. Doctors should be appointed to Daradahalli primary health centre, she added.

She directed the education department officials to ensure that all the government schools in the Gram Panchayat limits have teachers and are given basic facilities.

The MP also directed the labour and police departments to collect information on labourers who come from outside the state in search of employment in coffee estates.

Deputy Commissioner G Satyavathi, Additional Deputy Commissioner M L Vaishali and others were present.
