A legislature committee constituted to look into the violation of the framework agreement in the execution of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project will submit its report during the third week of September.

The panel is headed by Law Minister T B Jayachandra. The BMIC project is being implemented by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE).

The panel was set up in September 2014 following a debate in the state Assembly where several members cutting across party lines charged that land in excess of what had been originally agreed upon in the framework agreement was granted to NICE.

Jayachandra said he would not like to react to former prime minister H D Deve Gowda’s comment that the committee had become defunct. “The panel has held 20 meetings during the last two years. This speaks for itself”, Jayachandra said.

He said nobody can escape from the law if there were irregularities in the execution of the project.
