JOIN USThe vice chancellors and officials of the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and Rani Channamma University, Belagavi (RCUB) were on Tuesday pulled up by the Legislature Committee on Papers Laid on the Table for their failure to present the annual accounts and audit report before the committee.
The committee headed by S R Mahesh, which held its meeting at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha here, also expressed displeasure over the inept manner of presenting the reports before the committee.
The committee, which reviewed the accounts for over an hour and a half, observed that the varsities had not provided details on the expenditure of the grants provided by the government. VTU vice chancellor V Shridhar, RCUB vice chancellor Shivanand Hosamani and registrars of the two universities attended the meeting.
