Seeking a review of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, (PC and PNDT Act), Indian Radiological and Imaging Association members have planned an indefinite strike from September 1.
Radiologists have said that they would suspend ultrasound services across the country till their demands were met. They want the government to withdraw a gazette notification dated June 5, 2012, which restricts radiologists from visiting more than two ultrasound centres in a district. The members will take out a protest march from Freedom Park to the office of the Commissioner of Department of Health and Welfare on September 1.
