The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast one or two spells of light rainfall in some parts of south interior region, including the city, on Friday.
The city received 1.3 mm of rainfall up to 5.30 pm on Thursday. HAL airport received 0.4 mm and Kempegowda International Airport received 2.4 mm.
IMD-Bengaluru Director (In-charge) L Ramesh Babu said the department had forecast rainfall in the north and south interior Karnataka on Thursday because of the system formation in West Central Bay of Bengal moving westerly. Since the system continues on Friday also, light rainfall has been forecast in south interior Karnataka, including the city, and good rainfall in north interior Karnataka. The IMD has also announced the withdrawal of monsoon in Rajasthan and surrounding places. This also means that there would be good rainfall in the forthcoming days, he added.
