Petition to declare Pak as sponsorer of terrorism

In order to take a hard line policy against Pakistan after the Uri attack, Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra has initiated a public petition on Tuesday and addressed it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he asks PM to declare Pakistan as a state that sponsors terrorism.

Mishra has asked public to demand three things from the PM – declaration of Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism, imposition of economic sanctions on Pakistan and immediate removal of the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status that India has currently given to Pakistan.

He will also ask PM in this petition to summon a special session of Parliament where he can declare Pakistan as state that sponsors terrorism. “Apart from speeches what action has the government taken to show Pakistan that we are serious about combating terrorism,” said Mishra.

This petition, signed by citizens across India will be sent to the PM. The petition will make the PM understand the mood of the nation, according to him and implore Modi to act tough on Pakistan.

Talking about Modi’s policy of making good speeches, he said that they are good only for making headlines and WhatsApp forwards.

He said that India does not want war. But it is important that Pakistan knows the consequences of attacking India. If that doesn’t happen, attacks like Uri will become the norm, he said.

He said that no Indian industrialists should invest or trade with Pakistan and the ones who are currently investing should be stopped.

“Pakistan is still recognised as a MFN by India. We need to withdraw the status. We cannot give any favours to those who attack India's sovereignty as part of their foreign policy,” he said.
