Series of works on Deendayal's life to be launched today

With the BJP celebrating his birth centenary as the year of deprived section of the society, the 15-volume compilation, “The Complete Works of Deendayal Upadhyaya”, gives an insight into the history of Jana Sangh, defining moments in the country, including the 1965 Indo-Pakistan war, Indo-China war, Goa liberation and Tashkent agreement.

The collection sourced through his speeches, writings and other reference materials will be made public about five decade after he was found dead in mysterious circumstances in a train at Mughalsarai in 1967. It has been edited by Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma and compiled by Research and Development Foundation for Integral Humanism, and Prabhat Publications.

Sharma stated that each volume is focussed on a particular theme and will have a dedicated preface written by a dignitary. It will have narratives on important personalities who were committed to the nation, he pointed out.

For instance, the introductory volume is dedicated to second RSS chief M S Golwalkar and will bring forth the literature from 1940s and writings of Upadhyay as sangh pracharak. The volume will be prefaced by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
