<p>The 20th annual convocation of MS Ramaiah Institute of Management was recently conducted at MSRIT Apex auditorium.<br /><br /></p>.<p> The chief guest for the event was Rostow Ravanan, CEO and MD, Mindtree Limited. The programme began with the invocation song, lighting of the lamp and offering floral tributes to the founder, late M S Ramaiah. The guests were welcomed by dean Dr H Muralidharan. The convocation was declared open by director M R Anandaram.<br /><br />Programme head Dr Savitha Rani Ramachandran presented the annual report of the institute for the academic year 2015-16. All activities related to academics, student initiatives, community orientation, faculty development, national conference and placements were listed out in detail. <br /><br />Chief executive S M Acharya thanked the students and their parents for being present at the event. He talked about how the world outside may not necessarily be kind; it is a world full of challenges where the competition could be severe. This world requires maturity, perseverance and courage of the students. <br /><br />He concluded by saying that it would be an immense pleasure if students come back as a repository of knowledge and share that knowledge with others. <br /><br />The graduating students took the oath administered by the dean. The chief guest distributed the postgraduate diploma certificates to the graduating students. The chief guest and the director distributed the medals and prizes to the meritorious candidates for excellence in academics and co-curricular activities. Anamika and Tania Sachdeva received gold medals for academic excellence.<br /><br />The chief guest also addressed the graduating students. He congratulated them on their achievement and wished them success in all their future endeavours. He said, ‘Success is rarely of our own making, a lot of people help us to reach where we are.’ He also advised the students to not only think of employment options, but also consider entrepreneurship as a career. <br /><br />He emphasised about how the world is going digital and also highlighted the role of technology and innovation.
