Last Updated 14 November 2016, 21:01 IST

Bothered by sewage leakage, problems pertaining to water supply, water bills and related issues? Fret not. Lodging and tracking the complaints are now at your fingertips with Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board's (BWSSB) introducing its new mobile application.

The android based application 'BWSSB MyComplaint' enables consumers to raise their complaints under various categories such as water, new connection, pipe damage, sewerage and meter and sub-categories and later track them. Besides this, consumers can access the information on water timings in their respective localities and get contact details of BWSSB officers.

“The app which is operational for a couple of days now also helps one to locate kiosks for bill payments. We had proposed the idea of introducing mobile app with the main objective of making the lives of consumers easier and save their time by enabling them to lodge complaints, at one click. The BWSSB call centre used to record only 25% of the complaints and there was no knowledge of what type of complaints were being made. Through mobile app, complaints could be tracked completely,” said BWSSB Chairman Tushar Girinath.

Paytm and three other agencies through which some consumers are already paying water bills will be integrated into the mobile app soon. Girinath told DH that they want the app to cover three aspects - complaints, payment and queries.

BWSSB sources said that the app has seen 1,000 downloads so far. To lodge a complaint, one has to enter details such as one’s name, email ID, phone number, area and RR number mentioned in the water bill. Followed by which one has to select the category and sub-category section, depending on the nature of the complaint one wants lodge.
