After the recent arrest of former JD(S) corporator and his wife, along with seven contract killers, in connection with the murder case of BJP worker Chikka Thimme Gowda, the Kamakshipalya police on Saturday arrested two more persons, including a minor.

A senior police officer said that Vishal alias Setu (19), a resident of Gollarahatti and a 16-year-old boy, a resident of Magadi Road were arrested based on the information provided by R X Suri and his gang members, who were arrested recently. The minor boy played a major role in planning the murder, as he, along with Sanaullah, who has also been arrested, kept track of Chikka Thimme Gowda’s movements for a long time, the officer added. “On November 8, Sanaullah and the minor followed Thimme Gowda. They told Suri that Thimme Gowda was going towards Gajanana Nagar near Sunkadakatte. Suri and others went to Gajanana Nagar and on spotting Thimme Gowda, they attacked him. There are two more people who are yet to be arrested in connection with the case and are currently absconding. Efforts are on to trace them,” added the officer.

Govinde Gowda, a former JD(S) corporator and his wife Varamahalakshmi hired contract killers to murder their most trusted aide Thimme Gowda as he switched loyalty to the BJP in the BBMP elections last year, which resulted in Varamahalakshmi losing the election.
