He told mediapersons in Shikaripur on Monday that both mayor and deputy mayor for BBMP will be from the BJP. The party will seek votes on the basis of the development works initiated by the State government, he added.  “Voters in Bangalore are impressed with the performance of the State government and will support the BJP,” he added.

On the displeasure among the BJP workers against denial of ticket for the loyalists he said that tickets are offered for competent candidates.  The party will keep an eye on dissident activities and initiate disciplinary actions against the erring workers, he said.

To a question on the proposed Bill on cow slaughter ban he said religious leaders have appreciated the State government’s initiative. Yeddyurappa said he could not visit Shimoga after the recent communal violence as he was busy with the Budget session.

To another query on the objections to permitting mining in reserved forest areas, he said State government will respect the people’s sentiments over the issue.  Chief Minister said the Government is open to talks with farmers of Bellary who are protesting against land acquisition for the airport project.
