The party gave B-Forms to some candidates on Sunday night while many candidates got the same form at 11.30 am on Monday, hours before the closing time of the last day of the nomination papers. With the B Form, candidates rushed to file the nomination papers with the ‘eleventh hour preparation’ and the available supporters.

One such candidate is Arun Kumar, who got ticket to contest the BBMP polls on Congress ticket from Sarakki ward in JP Nagar at 11.30 am. He was among the 30 candidates on whom the Congress leadership could not build a consensus till the last hour. After hectic lobbying Arun Kumar succeeded to bag the ticket. Soon after he got the B Form he arranged a rally to march from his ward to Jayanagar BDA Complex where he filed the nomination paper at about 2 pm.

A majority of Congress workers got the B Form on Monday morning after closed door hectic discussions. Interestingly many aspirants kept standing near the offices of the Returning Officers to file the nomination with a hope that their ‘loyalists’ around the party bigwigs would secure the B Form but their hopes sank as the sun headed for dusk. Angered with the insult, many of the workers decided to contest the election.
