Addressing mediapersons here on Monday, he alleged that Commissioner Yarrappa had created 77 fake khatas in 4.4 acres of land in Nachapalli. He had urged the Deputy Commissioner to take into his custody the minutes book of the general body meeting and conduct a probe in the alleged irregularities.

Funds lapse

A grant of Rs 2.25 crore earmarked for the development projects in KGF has reverted  back to the government as the administration failed to utilise it, Bhaktavatsalam claimed.

In a stark commentary on the non-performance of the CMC, Rs 3.25 crore sanctioned under the Small and Medium Town Development Project and Rs 22 crore under KMRP have also not been utilised as the projects have not taken off over the past two years, he claimed. The tender process for the projects is not completed as ender s are not being implemented as the Commissioner is demanding commission from the contractors, he alleged.

The grant released for SC/ST welfare by the government has also not been utilised for the past two years, Bhaktavatasalam said, alleging that tenders are being cancelled on technical grounds.

Blaming the drinking water shortage in the city on the commissioner’s apathy, Bhaktavatsalam said the commissioner had purchased sub-standard pipes for Rs 14 lakh without inviting a tender.

He wanted an inquiry into the episode and warned that he would launch an agitation if the government failed to take appropriate measures in 10 days. CMC members Dayanand, Nizam Pasha, Kumar and others were present.
