Woman found dead, husband, in-laws arrested

Gowramma of Puttenapalya reportedly hanged herself with a saree, even as her husband Muniraju was asleep in the same room. Muniraju found his wife dead when he woke up in the morning, police added.

Gowramma’s relatives have alleged that she died due to alleged harassment by her in-laws. Muniraju, however maintained that he was not aware of the reasons for the death of his wife. Bharthi (22) was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her GTM Quarters in Subramanyapura on Tuesday. She was married to Markandeya of Gadag district. Police said the couple was having a strained relationship and Markandeya had walked out of the house.

Bharthi was staying with her mother and sister. Nobody was at home when Bharthi took the extreme step. Post mortem report has revealed that Bharthi suffered severe head injury. Police are looking for her husband.
