‘Cafe Azzure’ is one of the newest additions to the city’s list of restaurants. The place recreates the beauty of Santorini island in Greece (precisely where the inspiration comes from). And the four partners — Aslam Basheer, Prithvi Raaj, Ayesha Naseer and Anas Merchant— consciously chose to keep the decor blue and white to compliment the name in a way making it absolutely romantic.
‘Cafe Azzure’, give its visitors a breathtaking view of ‘Namma’ MG Road along with a great gastronomical experience. For a place that is pretty new, the staff here seems to be thorough with the menu, good at service and helps one decide the best.
What is interesting is that your food is customised according to your palate (so, if you like to enjoy your food less spicy, just tell the staff about it).
Their menu has quite a few choices for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Most of the dishes mentioned on the menu have gone through a lot of research and exploring, which is what makes them exotic both in the presentation and taste. While starting your meal, ask for a ‘Sulemani’ tea; the perfect touch of lemon and sweetness will make you go for the second sip and the aroma of tea will take you straight to the tea gardens of Assam and Darjeeling.
While you sip on the tea, flip through the menu and ask for a plate of ‘cheese loaded jalapenos’. The right amount of cheese makes it ideal for even those who doesn’t like too much of it in their food. The seafood lovers can go for ‘butter garlic prawns’.
The highlight, however, is the ‘cheese crumb chicken’; the burst of cheese from the finely stuffed chicken is delectable. It will keep you wanting for more and so is the ‘vegetarian penne alfredo’. It will not leave you feeling heavy. The crispy garlic bread with it perfectly compliments the dish.
As for the drinks, try the ‘strawberry’ and ‘nutella’ milkshakes. The surprise element in the former is that it comes with a cupcake used as a lid. It can be eaten at the end.
The ‘nutella’ milkshake has the rich and creamy flavour of hazelnut and cocoa.
