Like any Indian kid, his stint with the sport first began with playing gully cricket in parks and colonies. Today his talent has shone in many matches. Brushing aside his alleged link up with Kannada actress Sanjana, Virat says the game comes first for him.

Speaking about his team, the RCB, Virat says, “The team has an exciting blend of youth and experience, and it’s a tremendous honour to be a part of the squad with the likes of Jacques Kallis, Mark Boucher, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble.”

“Being a member of the team for three seasons now has played an integral role in the development of my game. I’m looking to contribute in many more wins of our side.”

When asked to pick one memorable match, Virat says, “It's hard to pick one match, but our win against Chennai Super Kings in  the semi final last year is one game I just cannot
forget.”

Apart from the regular gym workouts and serious practice, it is the interaction with the “legendary players” on the sidelines that really excites him. In the two  seasons that he has played, he says there have been many instances which have left a deep impact on his life.

In fact, every time a season gets over there are many things he misses, “The IPL is something that we all look forward to each year, and on completion, we do miss the dressing room atmosphere that we share throughout the tournament. The teams have a collection of stars from across the world, and the time we spend together during the IPL is extremely memorable,” he signs off.
