The fire has destroyed 1,275 litres of Kerosene, 5,000 coconuts, 10 bags of rice and documents kept stocked in the shop. As per the complaint of Yathish, the owner of the shop, Thimmanna, Ningappa, Venkatesh and Prakash have been arrested by Sakarayapatna police.

It is said that on Thursday morning, Yathish was distributing the food commodities to the people as usual. Suddenly, a commotion broke out and the public stopped Yathish from distributing the commodities and asked him to come over to the village temple to talk over the alleged discrepancies in distribution of food commodities.
