Tata Motors unveils new Xenon Yodha

Last Updated 03 January 2017, 18:32 IST
Homegrown auto major Tata Motors, which launched its new pickup Tata Xenon Yodha in India, is planning to export it very soon. “As of now, sales have been restricted to India. We are already preparing for exports and should be able to start it in the next few months,” Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Business Unit Vice President (Sales and Marketing) R T Wasan said.

The Yodha will be offered in countries where people want a commercial workhorse, Wasan added. Tata Motors currently sells around 20,000 units of the Xenon. Exports and domestic sales are nearly 50:50 for the product. The Xenon Yodha will be available in single cab and double cab, with prices starting at Rs 6.05 lakh (single cab- BSIII) and Rs 6.19 lakh (single cab- BSIV), respectively. The earlier version of the Xenon had a starting price of Rs 6.5 lakh.

According to another company official, the company has bounced back from the demonetisation ‘scare’ in terms of sales in the latter half of December. “During November, we saw a 30-35% fall in sales and that went on till December 15. Last 15 days of December, we have seen normalcy returning and we should be able to have a strong Q4,” Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Executive Director Ravi Pisharody said.
