JOIN US The police on Thursday night registered a suo motu case against Uttara Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde and his aide Krishna Esale, BJP district unit general secretary, for assaulting doctors and a hospital staffer.
The BJP MP and his associates had assaulted two doctors and a staffer at TSS Hospital here on Monday night. The police registered the case after examining the CCTV footage and the statement of the assaulted doctors.
A case has been registered under the provisions of the Karnataka Prohibition of Violence Against Medical Service Personnel and Damage to Property In Medicare Service Institutions Act, 2009, and Indian Penal Code sections 34, 341, 323 and 504.
