Husband pulled the trigger, says police officer

The post-mortem on Shruthi’s body was conducted at MS Ramaiah Hospital on Saturday. Her parents took her body to their ancestral house at a village near Doddalamara in Nelamangala for the last rites.

Meanwhile, the post-mortem on Amit’s body was performed at Sapthagiri Hospital. His last rites will performed on Sunday after the arrival of his cousins from Australia and an uncle from the US.

Police produced Rajesh Gowda and Gopalakrishna before the jurisdictional magistrate and sought their custody for further questioning. “Initially when they surrendered themselves, Gopalakrishna claimed that he had pulled the trigger. But further questioning revealed that it was Rajesh who shot him dead,” a senior police officer said.

Labhu Ram, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North), said, “We have sent the revolver and fingerprints for forensic examination.”

A case of murder and a separate case of unnatural death have been registered at the Soladevanahalli police station.
