Majithia will be jailed by April 15: Kejriwal

Last Updated 17 January 2017, 20:17 IST

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia will be sent to jail by April 15.

The AAP national convener alleged that Majithia has drowned Punjab in drugs and people of the state are scared to speak against him.

Kejriwal said Majithia’s name has cropped up in statements by drug lords.
“Majithia sells drugs. It is clear,” he said.

Talking to newspersons here, Kejriwal said he was saying this with authority after going through all the records and statements against Majithia, who is the brother-in-law of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal and brother of Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
Kejriwal also said a Special Investigation Team will be constituted to prove the “loot by the Badals” and all the guilty will be sent to jail.

He said Capt Amarinder’s decision to contest from Lambi against Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was a ploy given that AAP candidate Jarnail Singh was gaining ground and Badal needed Capt Amarinder to divide the votes against him so that they were not consolidated in favour of Jarnail.

“Why should Amarinder not contest from one seat then?” he said.Kejriwal claimed his party will get 100 plus seats.
