Inspiring the youth

Science camp

REVA University, School of Physical Sciences organised a ‘Inspire Internship Science Camp’, ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspire Research (INSPIRE)’ programme that was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, New Delhi. The camp was conducted in Kuvempu Auditorium, REVA University.

Around 200 plus PUC and 11 and 12th standard students from various educational institutions participated in this camp. The objective was to inspire the youth of the country, attract talent to the study of science at an early stage and build the required human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the science and technology system and Research and Development.

Dr N Vijayan, Senior Scientist, NPL, New Delhi; Dr Shakeel Ahmed, Senior Scientist, Hyderabad; Prof C K Jayashankar, SV University, Tirupati; Dr Anil Nandi; Dr Stephan Arumainathan, Department of Nuclear Physics, Chennai covered various topics during the camp.

Dr P Shyama Raju, Chancellor, REVA University presided over the function. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr V S Ramamurthy, Emeritus Professor, former director of National Institute of Advanced Studies, former Director DST. Inaugural address was by Dr B C Ranu, INSA Senior Scientist and J C Bose National Fellow, Kolkata.
