Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari, who was last seen in Manish Jha’s ‘The Legend of Michael Mishra’ alongside Arshad Warsi, will soon be spotted playing Sanjay Dutt’s on-screen daughter in his comeback movie ‘Bhoomi’.

Earlier, the names of Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor were considered for the role. The movie explores the relationship of a father and daughter with elements of emotion and revenge.

“We shortlisted Aditi because she’s in a good space right now. I love the way she emotes. This, unlike her other projects, will be her film. She’s a relatively untapped actor. The father-daughter relationship is an important aspect of the narrative in this revenge drama. Aditi’s face perfectly blends softness with a lot of strength. Besides, I like to team up people, who are unlikely to be cast together, in my movies,” said director Omung Kumar.

“Aditi’s role goes hand in-hand with Dutt’s track in the film. His role is physically
demanding, while she will display an array of emotions. So, it’s important that they get along well.In fact, they are being trained by a diction expert for the dialect common in Agra”, added Kumar, who also bagged a National award for his directorial debut ‘Mary Kom’ (2015). Bhoomi is slated to release next year.

On the working front, Aditi will be seen next in Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Aur Devdas’ and is also a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’. Moreover, the actor is currently busy shooting for Tamil movie ‘Kaatru Vallyidai’, where she will also be assisting her
director, Mani Ratnam.
