The Nandini Layout police arrested five people, including three women, for abducting and torturing a daughter-mother duo. According to the police, the attackers said the woman and her daughter knew about the elopement of a minor girl with a man.

The arrested have been identified as Tehsina (32) resident of Shariff Nagar, Yasmin Taj (27) and Jabiullah (33), both residents of MS Palya in Srinidhi Layout, Indramma (42) and Imran Pasha (28) both residents of Lakshmidevi Nagar in Laggre.

According to the police, a 15-year-old girl went missing from her house in Nandini Layout on January 16 and a complaint was registered by the girl's family. Later, the family got to know that the girl had an affair with a man identified as Shabul and had eloped with him. Shabul is from Assam and he was close to the mother-daughter duo named Ayesha (20) and Raziya (45) who were neighbours of the missing girl's family. The police said that both Shabul and Ayesha's mother Raziya worked at the same hospital and Shabul was a resident of KR Puram.

After the girl's family got to know that she had eloped with Shabul, five persons from the girl's family went to the house of Ayesha and Raziya and assaulted them demanding to know the whereabouts of Shabul. Though the duo told them that they knew nothing about their affair except where Shabul lived, they took the daughter and mother to KR Puram to identify the Shabul’s house where they thought he and the girl would be. But on reaching there, there was nobody and the two women were assaulted and tortured there too.

According to victim’s allegations, the three women put pepper powder on their private parts and tortured them. Later, the victims approached Nandini Layout police and lodged a complaint. The police arrested the five and are on the hunt for the eloped couple to rescue the minor girl. “We are planning to book Shahul for kidnap and under POCSO,” the police added.
