Water supply to SR Palya stopped, residents in distress

Citing the non-payment of the pipeline bill, a contractor has stopped the water supply, said residents of SR Palya in Pavagad taluk. As a result, water is not supplied for the past two days. Residents are forced to carry water from far off places, they complained.

“The bill issue must be discussed with the officials and solved. Despite repeated requests that the villagers must not be inconvenienced because the bill has not been paid, water is not being supplied,” the village leaders said. A complaint has been lodged with the PDO and TP executive officer.

But no officer has visited the village, the villagers said. Some miscreants have damaged the borewell starter. Despite this, the officials have not lodged a police complaint.
