City Police Commissioner Dr A Subrahmany- eswara Rao on Friday warned history-sheeters of booking them under Goonda Act and banishment if they indulged in anti-social activities. During a parade of history sheeters at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Parade Grounds here, the commissioner warned the sheeters to stay away from illegal activities such as hafta collection and real estate mafia.

Police, who conducted raids on the houses of the sheeters during the early hours of Friday, seized weapons and produced the sheeters before the Commissioner at the parade ground. As many as 110 history sheeters were probed about their routine. As the City Police is constituting the Anti-Rowdy Squad, the Commissioner gave a final warning to the sheeters and also obtained details about other anti-social elements. He extended support to those sheeters who are willing to join the mainstream of society. Three sheeters since 1996, urged the commissioner to strike out their names as they have changed their behaviour. However, Rao told them that suitable measures would be taken after reviewing their profile.

A police team, led by DCP Dr H T Shekar, conducted a raid on 10 houses of the sheeters in Paduvarahalli, Vontikoppal, Dattagalli and Hootagalli and seized the weapons. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Dr Shekar said the department is monitoring the activities of history sheeters and has issued a warning to them.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) N Rudramuni, DCP (CAR) B V Kittur, NR Sub-Division ACP Umesh G Sait, K R Sub-Division ACP C Mallik and City Crime Branch ACP Gopal were present at the parade.
