In a bid to provide financial assistance and medical aid to patients with curable cancer, the young and dynamic philanthropic doctors and students of the Department of Oncology at Fr Muller Medical College and Hospital have initiated ‘Cansurvive Campaign’, led by Dr Rohith Pinto under the patronage of Fr Muller Charitable Group of Institutions.

The Cansurvive Campaign has embarked on its course to spread the message of hope and belief to patients who cannot afford treatment and intends to create awareness about certain curable cancers and their treatment.

Run for a cause

As part of the campaign, the organisers have planned a 5.2 km walk starting from Fr Muller Medical College ground at 6.15 am on February 5.

From the college ground, the walk route is via Pumpwell Circle, Omega Hospital, Karavali Junction, Bendoorwell Circle, Mangalore Nursing Home, Collector’s Gate, Jyothi / KMC Hospital, Milagres Church, Avery Junction, Unity Hospital and back to Fr Muller grounds.

According to Dr Pinto, Olympian Vandana Rao, Paralympian Sharath Gayakwad, Prof Dr B M Nayak, known as the Marathon Man of India, and Cansurvivers from the city will take part in the event.

Besides giving caps and participation certificates to all the participants in addition to snacks and refreshments, exciting prizes and gift hampers for the first three to complete run will be given. There will be eight additional surprise winners too.
