<p>Kristu Jayanti College recently hosted the 10th annual edition of ‘Nrityanjali’. The inter-college dance fest witnessed participation from 28 colleges across the city. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The programme included events such as ‘Eastern group’, ‘Eastern solo’, ‘Western group’, ‘Western solo’, ‘Classical’, ‘Adaptune’, ‘Theme’, ‘Tribal’ and ‘Duet’ dance.<br /><br />The inaugural ceremony was attended by T R Ramani, former manager, City Union Bank. Other attendees were Rajagopalan, former BGM-HE, City Union Bank and Sudarshan, head, campus recruitment team, City Union Bank. Fr Josekutty P D, principal, delivered the presidential address. <br /><br />The judges for the day were renowned artistes in the field of art and culture - Varna Sampath, Deepika, Mithun Shyam, Minnu Shyam, Dr Jessica, Manassi, Xavier Prasad and June Valentine.<br />The students had a wonderful time participating in different programmes. <br />Leah Liz, a student from the BA department, said, “The atmosphere was festive and enjoyable. It was a very exciting experience to see different colleges come and perform various forms of dance and showcase their talents in our college.”<br /><br />St Claret’s College emerged as the overall winners of ‘Nrityanjali 2017’ while the runners-up trophy was bagged by Jyoti Nivas College. Fr Emmanuel, head of department, department of psychology; Dr Calistus Jude, dean, department of life sciences; Gouri Vinod and Joshua Christopher, the literary and cultural association coordinators were also present on the dais. <br />Around 3,000 people attended the show.</p>
