The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday refused to grant stay on the global tender floated for construction of stormwater drains (SWDs) across the city.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike had floated tenders for constructing SWDs for a length of 113 km at a cost of Rs 800 crore. The work was proposed to be executed in six packages. The BBMP Contractors’ Association had moved the court claiming that the Palike had restricted the number of packages which otherwise could have allowed more contractors to work on the project. Justice A S Bopanna refused to stay the tender process.
