Vachana sahithya is one of the greatest form of literature. Unfortunately, Kannadigas have failed to understand it. Vachana literature is read and some vachanas are used as quote for speeches. However, the meaning of vachana is not implemented.
“Bhakthi Bhandari Basavanna is not dead. He is alive through his vachanas. Basavanna’s Vachana should be translated and kept in five star hotels across the world,” he added.
Supreme Court Judge (retd) Dr Shivaraj Patil, Bangalore University lecturer Dr C Nagavhushan, Asha Kirana School for Blind Children President Dr J P Krishnegowda and Karnataka College Lecturer Dr Shivananda Kelaginamani were awarded with Halakatti award on the occasion.
Senior Litterateur C P Krishnakumar, Sammelan President Dr Sangamesha Handigi, Kodi Mutt Seer Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji and others were present.
