Man bludgeons brother to death

A 58-year-old car driver was murdered by his brother at their house in Basaveshwaranagar on Wednesday night. The deceased is Prakash Rao, a resident of Manjunathnagar.

Police said Prakash used to come home drunk and abuse his wife and mother. His brother Govind Rao (30), who is settled in Nelamangala, had come to see their mother on Wednesday night.

When Prakash started abusing his 78-year-old mother in an inebriated condition, Govind took objection to it and the brothers started quarrelling. When Prakash lost balance and fell, Govind took a boulder and smashed it on his brother. Seeing the commotion, a few neighbours informed the police.

However, Govind had escaped by the time the police reached the house. The Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a murder case and are on the lookout for the suspect.
