Three unidentified men attempted to kill a 10-year-old girl after abducting her from Shivajinagar on Wednesday. However, the suspects abandoned the victim, when she raised an alarm, and fled.
According to police, the suspects abducted the girl from near her house in Shivajinagar, bundled her into a car and drove away. They drove around the city for some time before taking her to a house at Bhuvaneshwari Nagar in Hebbal. They attempted to strangulate the girl using a rope on the terrace of the house when she raised an alarm. Soon, locals rushed to the spot. The trio abandoned the girl on the terrace and ran away after seeing the residents.
The girl told the locals that she was taken to different places in a car. She also shared her father’s mobile number. The victim’s parents rushed to the spot after the locals called them up and informed them about the incident, said the police.
The girl was taken to a hospital as she was terrified. She is still being treated at the hospital. Her parents lodged a complaint with the police on February 15. The girl told the police that one man attempted to strangulate her.
“There is definite information about one person. All three will be arrested shortly,” said the police inspector. DCP (North) Labhu Ram clarified that there was no attempt of molestation.
