The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday restrained the state government from issuing a final notification declaring Kappatagudda, located in Gadag district, as the ‘reserve forest’.
A division bench, comprising Chief Justice S K Mukherjee and Justice R B Budihal, passed the order in a PIL filed by Venkatesh Dasar and others. The bench restrained the Department of Forest, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Karnataka Wildlife Board from issuing the final notification.
