World Vision India in association with Bengaluru City Police has created ‘child-friendly’ space at the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kengeri Gate sub-division. The facility was inaugurated on Monday.

This initiative will provide counselling to vulnerable children when brought to the police station.

Speaking at the inaugural event, Narmada Anand, Director ICPS (Integrated Child Protection Scheme), said that the child-friendly spaces stipulated by the Pocso Act and implemented by World Vision India will allow the child to develop healthy conversation between different agencies of the state - the police, judiciary and child protection machinery.

M N Anucheth, DCP (West), said that police find it difficult to speak to the children who are molested or abused. The child-friendly space will facilitate children to open-up, he said.
