<p>The Bar Council of India (BCI) has resolved to increase the upper age limit from the current 20 to 22 years for admissions to the 5-year law degree programme.<br /><br /></p>.<p>It also resolved to increase the upper age limit for admissions to three-year degree course in law from the current 30 to 45 years.<br /><br />The BCI passed a resolution for increasing the upper age limit for both programmes at its general body meeting in Kolkata on Wednesday.<br /><br />“It is an interim decision meant to be implemented in the academic session of 2017-18 only. Our legal education committee will take a final decision for the implementation of the upper age limit beyond academic session of 2017-18,” the council chairman Manan Kumar Mishra told DH.</p>
