Fine flavours of Italy

An Italian food festival is being organised at Alba, JW Marriott till March 12. Chef Matteo, the Italian chef at ‘Mezzo Mezzo’, JW Marriott, Mumbai will present the authentic flavours of Italy to pamper the Indian palate. With his culinary expedition throughout Italy, he will bring together an array of exquisite dishes inspired by his journey that touches the north, south and central parts of Italy.

He has crafted a special menu that includes traditional dishes from his native regions of Piedmont, Sicily and Tuscany. Some of his signature dishes include ‘Mollefoglie di pollo con salsa tonnata, peperoni e cippole arrostite’ — a milfoil of slow cooked chicken, roasted bell pepper, charcoal onion and tonnata sauce; ‘Ravioli di burrata, pesto di mandorle e pomodorle secchi, ragout di melanzane e ricotta’ — ravioli of burrata, almond and sundried tomato pesto, eggplant ragout and ricotta.

There will also be some luscious desserts such as ‘Torta coi bischeri con gelato alla pera’ — Chocolate rice cake, pear gelato and ‘Bonet con mirtilli e ameretti’ — Cacao, ameretti and caramel pudding with blueberries.

The festival is on from 7.30 pm onwards at Alba, JW Marriott, Vittal Mallya Road.
