<p>Air India on Friday shunted out its head of operations A K Kathpalia, whose flying licence was suspended last month for skipping the mandatory pre- and post-flight alcohol test recently.<br /><br /></p>.<p>He is replaced by A K Govil in a reshuffle announced by the national carrier.<br /><br />Kathpalia, also a senior executive pilot at the airline, has been made as the new executive director for special projects, according to an official notification.<br /><br />Govil was serving as inflight services executive director.<br /><br />Kathpalia was taken off flying duties by Air India in February while directorate general of civil aviation suspended his flying licence for refusing to undergo mandatory alcohol test.<br /><br />Air India has replaced its Executive Director (Training) A S Soman with Amitabh Singh. Soman will be the new executive director for inflight safety in place of Govil.</p>
