JOIN US Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu produced a dominant performance and powered her way into the second round of the All England Badminton Championships here on Wednesday.
India’s Rio Games silver winner, seeded sixth in the competition, hammered Denmark’s Mette Poulsen 21-10, 21-11 to register a comfortable win in the first round of women’s singles.
In the men’s singles, H S Prannoy came from a game down to beat Qiao Bin 17-21, 22-20, 21-19 while Ajay Jayaram went down fighting to Huang Yuxiang 21-19, 21-13 in the first round.
