<p>Construction work on what could be the tallest tower in Jumeirah Beach Walk in Dubai has started after Emaar appointed Middle East Foundation Group as enabling works contractor. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The 255,000 square metre, 74-storey twin-tower development, which will be Emaar’s first beachfront hotel project in Dubai, is to be built on the last available land plot for development on Jumeirah Beach Walk. <br /><br /> The foundation work will feature 22 km of bored piling. More than 222,000 cubic metres of earth will be excavated for the three basement levels.<br /><br />The development will comprise apartments, serviced apartments and a 183-room hotel. It will include 100 metres of beachfront looking out onto Meraas Holding’s Bluewaters Island and the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel. It is planned to have a direct link to Sheikh Zayed Road. In September last year, Emaar announced an expected completion date of 2020 for the project. <br /><br /></p>
