Construction work on what could be the tallest tower in Jumeirah Beach Walk in Dubai has started after Emaar appointed Middle East Foundation Group as enabling works contractor.

The 255,000 square metre, 74-storey twin-tower development, which will be Emaar’s first beachfront hotel  project in Dubai, is to be built on the last available land plot for development on Jumeirah Beach Walk.

The foundation work will feature 22 km of bored piling. More than 222,000 cubic metres of earth will be excavated for the three basement levels.

The development will comprise apartments, serviced apartments and a 183-room hotel. It will include 100 metres of beachfront looking out onto Meraas Holding’s Bluewaters Island and the Ain Dubai Ferris wheel. It is planned to have a direct link to Sheikh Zayed Road. In September last year, Emaar announced an expected completion date of 2020 for the project.
